Openmindly is a tool for generating and "building" ideas throughout the whole process, from idea generation to implementation. The platform allows for participation of employees, external collaborators and, where appropriate, business partners. They can share their ideas for internal innovations, new concepts, products, process innovations, etc. Ideas are drawn from all levels (departments) and the whole ecosystem of the organisation and external stakeholders. The platform allows ideas to be centralised in one place, evaluated and finally developed into value for the company and its users (customers). Capturing new ideas and suggestions from employees and brainstorming will be faster, easier and, above all, more systematic.

Ideas then move between statuses, depending on which stage they are in. The statuses are: idea, evaluation, implementation and archive.

In the idea discovery phase, ideas can be liked, rated (upvoted) and commented on. The idea then moves to the evaluation phase, where is assessed by the management or by those in charge. If the idea passes the evaluation process, it is moved to the implementation process, otherwise it returns to the bottom of the idea discovery list. In the implementation process, the idea is assigned to a specific user (not necessarily the one who generated the idea) in order to plan its implementation and the required tasks. Tasks are simple "to-do" lists, whose holder is a specific user (he gets assigned a task). Once the implementation is complete, the idea is marked as implemented and archived. The user can view all his/her tasks/tasks under "My tasks", where they are categorised by idea, and sorted by deadline (date).
